Substance Use

Yes, your privacy and personal safety are extremely important to us and we work to strict confidentiality guidelines, in line with GDPR. One Recovery Bucks does record medical information and basic demographics, but this is kept confidential.

Contact the One Recovery Bucks family service and discuss your concerns, they will offer you a listening ear, advice and support and give you information about what you could do.

If you have been drinking heavily, every day, for some time, there is a possibility that you are physically alcohol-dependent. If you stop drinking suddenly, there is a danger you could have a fit. Please contact One Recovery Bucks for advice on how to cut down your alcohol consumption gradually.

At One Recovery Bucks, they can prescribe appropriate medication, depending on need.

At One Recovery Bucks, you can receive advice and support regardless of how much you are drinking or what drugs you are using. If you think you may need support, please speak to One Recovery Bucks.

Volunteering

Unfortunately, volunteers must be over 18 years of age. DO-it.org.uk, the national volunteering database, has over 1 million volunteering opportunities across the country and will help you find a suitable role.

You will need to pass an enhanced DBS check, provide two references and have a short informal chat with our Volunteer Manager. You will also need to complete a basic training session before being placed in a volunteer role.

Yes! We know everyone’s lives are busy and not everyone works or studies on set days. If you can commit to a few hours a week or month, we would love to hear from you! We also need volunteers to assist with events and fundraising which is a flexible commitment.

Yes! A few of our volunteers have more than one role with us. We just ask you to start with one role and settle in before taking on other commitments.

We cannot provide supervised clinical hours or counselling in our general volunteering roles. We do have 8-10 placements a year for Volunteer Counsellors. These positions are in high demand and are offered to those with relevant Level 4 qualifications, who are in university or other supported education.

Social Prescribing

Social prescribing is when health professionals direct people to support and activities within their community to improve health and well-being. Discovering local provisions can make it easier to access services, increase social interactions and build a local support network.

To find out more about Social Prescribing, who is eligible and how to get in touch, visit the Social Prescribing section of the website.

Routes to Work

The focus of our services is to support unemployed people. However, we do have funding to support some one-off activities with people looking to improve their work situation. To find out more, email our team at rtw@oasispartnership.org and we will do our best to signpost you to the right support.

We support jobseekers aged 18 and upwards. There is no upper age limit.

For 16 & 17-year-olds needing support, please visit the Jobcentre Plus website.

The Chesham Project

The majority of our groups are open to anyone, so you don’t need to be referred or pre-book. We recommend checking the timetable to see if pre-booking or referral is needed.

We aim to make all our health and wellbeing sessions accessible to the whole of the community. Many of our groups and services are completely free of charge, but if you can donate it helps us to keep services open and accessible.

Some evening groups and classes charge a small fee, see our timetable for full details.

We are open every Monday – Friday from 9 – 5, although some groups run outside of these hours. Please check the timetable for details.

We have no parking at the project.

East Street Car Park – Approx. 5 min walk.
Chesham Moor Gym & Swim Car Park – Approx. 10-15 min walk.
